Mary Dempsey Lau, RA

Mary Dempsey Lau joined PDP in January 2014 as a Project Architect to take up again a collaboration with George C. Skarmeas that began in 1992. Mary currently serves as coordinator for the Alamo Master Plan, overseeing communications, record keeping and staffing on this project with twenty consultants, three major client groups and multiple local and state stakeholders.

Prior to joining PDP, Mary was involved in preservation at the Vitetta Group as project architect for the Master Plan for the Park-wide Utilities Improvement Project at Independence National Historical Park and the Congress Hall Utilities Improvement Project. At James Stewart Polshek and Partners in NYC, she participated in the restoration and renovation of Carnegie Hall. Her experience in new construction ranges from serving as project architect for Suffolk County Courthouse, a half-million square foot courthouse on Long Island, NY, to assisting in the design of renovations and additions to traditional residences in the Philadelphia area.

In addition to her involvement on individual projects, Mary acts as editor and staff advisor for reports issued by PDP.
